About the author

Glenn A. Leibowitz is a writer, community builder, and passionate advocate for Jewish education. He is the founder of Jewish Life Press, an independent publishing imprint dedicated to telling the stories of remarkable Jewish people, ideas, and achievements that have shaped our world.

Glenn has been actively involved in strengthening Jewish community life in Taiwan for more than 15 years. From 2015 to 2020, he served on the board of the Taiwan Jewish Community. From 2020 to 2022, he served as communications director and subsequently the first CEO of the nonprofit Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association (JTCA), which spearheaded the development of Taiwan's first permanent Jewish community center.

Working closely with JTCA founders Jeffrey D. Schwartz and his late wife, NaTang, Glenn helped establish the center as a welcoming home for Jewish culture, education, religious observance, and community gatherings. The $15 million center features a synagogue, mikveh, kosher certified restaurant, museum of rare Judaica and Jewish art, a ballroom for events, and a school for children. The center represented an important milestone in the development of Jewish communal life in Taiwan, creating a permanent space where Jewish residents, families, and visitors could connect with their heritage and one another.

In recognition of his contributions to preserving and promoting Jewish culture, Glenn was named a recipient of the Austrian Holocaust Memorial Award, alongside the center's co-founders. Presented by the nonprofit organization Austrian Service Abroad, the award acknowledged their collective efforts to strengthen Jewish life and ensure that Jewish heritage and traditions continue to thrive in Taiwan.

Since 2021, Glenn has contributed articles to The Times of Israel, exploring Jewish identity, history, culture, and religious observance. His writing reflects a longstanding interest in the Jewish experience, the preservation of Jewish heritage, and the importance of passing Jewish knowledge and traditions from one generation to the next.

As the father of two adult children, Glenn understands the importance of nurturing a strong Jewish identity, particularly for families living far from the world's major Jewish population centers. Both of his children received a Jewish education while growing up in Asia and proudly celebrated their bar and bat mitzvahs in Taipei, Taiwan. These personal experiences have reinforced his conviction that Jewish children everywhere should have opportunities to discover their heritage, take pride in their identity, and find inspiration in the lives and accomplishments of extraordinary Jewish individuals.

That conviction led Glenn to establish Jewish Life Press, a publishing imprint devoted to sharing engaging, accessible stories about Jewish history, culture, innovation, and achievement. Its first initiative is Jewish Stars, a series of illustrated biographies for readers ages 9–13.

Through Jewish Stars, Glenn introduces young readers to remarkable Jewish figures whose curiosity, courage, determination, and creativity helped change the world. The books explore not only their extraordinary accomplishments but also their Jewish identities, the challenges they faced, and the values that shaped their lives.

By bringing these stories to life, Glenn hopes to inspire a new generation of readers to appreciate the richness of Jewish history, recognize the contributions of Jewish people across generations, and develop a lasting sense of Jewish pride.

Glenn is also a prolific writer on LinkedIn, where he was recognized as a LinkedIn Top Voice for four consecutive years. His articles on writing, communication, leadership, and professional development have attracted a global following of more than 130,000 people.

Glenn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University, a Master of Arts degree from Yale University, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
